The Expert

Georg Abel has been the Federal Managing Director of the VERBRAUCHER INITIATIVE e.V. since 1994. His work focuses on the diverse topic of sustainability and the target group of seniors. He is responsible for communication across various topics and represents the federal association in numerous committees, including the sustainability advisory boards of various companies. Following a commercial apprenticeship as a travel agent and studies in political science and sociology, he spent several years as the managing director of a city magazine and a journalist association, as well as the press spokesman for the Green Party in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 1999, Mr. Abel has also been the managing director of the association’s own Verbraucher Initiative Service GmbH.
